Weeee!

I'm having fun with this project. I love the big table and large space. I've dreampt of this room ever since we got the boat. Now, 1 1/2 yrs. later  I'm finally gettin to it.

You can see more pictures of this and other projects here.

Another new thing... Lucy Maru is renamed Tara. We have decided this a while ago, and more needs to be written about it, but for now, its enough that you know her name is TARA.

love the new look. and i envy your sewing machine. i had been telling myself i was going to buy a sewing machine and re-do all of our canvas and seat covers. but then reality struck and i realized i had no room for the sewing machine on the sailboat. :(

Hey thanks. Yeah that machine is wild. My only regret is that I never found out the name of the lady who owned it before us. She died, and her daughter was stuck with this thing and just wanted it gone. So the first people who could take it out of the basement, well it was theirs. So we did it. Me and Travis dragged that thing up two flights of stairs and into the truck. It was in good shape, but I surprised myself by ordering all the service manuals and making this thing work for me. Now we're friends.

Oh I'm feeling guilty about not wanting to learn to sew. I guess I really need to. Glad to see you're getting it done!

That's the kind of machine the hubby would say "she can build a battleship with that thing." His dad has one similar that he makes all types of canvas and leather things with.

Those old timers you know sound really cool. It going to be hard to let this machine go when the time comes to move aboard Me Voy, but sine we're keeping all our other tools for "future" I'm gonna try to keep this one too I think.

They bring top dollar when they work properly.

This one is really amazing. It takes some adjusting and finding the sweet spot, and then it just goes. No really, it takes offf, fast. But everything works great, including this bobbin winder on the side that is really cool looking.

Wow I envy you having the skill to use it! I have always wanted to be able to make awnings and "boat stuff" but have never had the Gonads to try I have an old singer and am told that it can be modified to work on multi-layer canvas but have never tried as yet. Maybe Ill stick to plain upholstery! :o(( I think that you should keep it and when you get to the Far East where they fetch a local premium, then you decide whether or not to get rid of it? maybe you could swap it for a cow or something :o)) in the meantime it will go nicely in the lowest level bilge encapsulated in waterbroof bags and silica gell packets. you can then forget about it for a while and it will work away quite happily keeping the boat on an even keel whilst acruing funds :o) Maybe.

LOL Rob! I always wanted a pet cow! Or maybe a goat. Goat on boat... has a nice ring to it don't you think?

Oh my, that's great! I've been thinking about that too (whenever we price out new cushions or canvas or anything). I'm impressed! Yes, the new look of the blog is great too!
